Tectonic shifts have taken place across financial markets, and they aren’t strictly a function of coronavirus. No doubt, monetary and fiscal policy today have been heavily affected by the current crisis. However, things like the shift from active to passive, risk on-risk off dynamics, overtrading due to changes in pricing structure, and the extraordinary “short-termism” that is produced are products of change that were in play long before COVID. Just a few weeks ago, Michael Gayed, author of the Lead-Lag Report and portfolio manager of the ATAC Rotation Fund, came on to discuss many of these concepts. By popular demand, he is back on this segment of Real Vision Live where he’ll be sitting down with Max Wiethe to explore these issues in detail and break down what all these changes, both old and new, mean for financial markets moving forward.
