David Einhorn says "apathetic" investors buying stocks they think they "need to own" aren't critically analyzing company fundamentals, leaving good but unglamorous companies "deprived of capital" and creating supply chain, labor and market inefficiencies. The founder and president of Greenlight Capital, who became famous for his shorts on Lehman Brothers and bubble stocks, said “nihilism” gripping the markets is disincentivizing companies from reinvesting in their businesses, leading him to believe that current inflation is not transitory. Einhorn spoke with Michael Green, Real Vision host and Simplify chief strategist at NYSE on October 4, 2021 to benefit Coney Island Prep.
