Bitcoin Miami 2022 was the biggest event yet for the crypto community, with more than 25,000 attendees in South Florida. Of course, it’s easy to feel the bullishness among crypto enthusiasts and Bitcoin maximalists. But that bullishness is going mainstream, as more and more traditional types – venture capitalists, software engineers, hedge fund managers – are getting on the bus. Despite Bitcoin’s volatile price action over the trailing 12 months, there’s still a lot of excitement and energy on the ground, particularly among younger people intent on building a new world using blockchain technology as the core enabling infrastructure. Real Vision’s Ash Bennington catches up with some of crypto’s top players in attendance, highlighting the major themes he’s hearing about now: the lightning network, regulation, ETFs, and competitiveness.
