Being a Hong Kong based journalist, Angie Lau, editor-in-chief of Forkast.news, joins to give us a boots on the ground perspective into the Asian crypto scene. Despite the recent news of yet another Chinese crackdown, the Asian cryptocurrency industry is blossoming, especially in areas like the Philippines and Vietnam. Lau takes through the big picture vantage point of several stories she has been covering. Having recently concluded her interview with Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, Lau also reflects on some of the lessons learned and the importance of differentiation in the crypto space. Axie Infinity is another crypto project that has had a powerful impact on Lau. She discusses the broader implications for what “play-to-earn” projects mean for countries like the Philippines and touches on the future of crypto in Asia more generally.
